William Hanna, of Hanna-Barbera cartoon fame, died today. He was 90.

This is one of those people you never knew to thank. I have countless fond memories of childhood watching Hanna/Barbera cartoons with my brothers. Someone who brought me much joy has passed, and though I never knew him, I will miss him.

Thank you Mr Hanna, for all you have done. Rest well.

I dunno, the man helped pioneer removing frames from animation. H&B helped usher in the age of crap cartoons with lousy animation produced on the cheap. That, i think, is a crime.

However, despite producing a ton of absolute crap, they also gave us things like the Flintstones, Jetsons, Superfriends, yogi bear, and because Ted Turner loves to take a good idea and beat it into the ground, Boomerang Network.

so I love 'em for giving me Thundaar the Barbarian, but hate them for the cheap animation.
