Yep, I went cheap as well. 128/768. They installed it in 2.5 weeks from the order date (unlike flashcom, which didn't install even after 12 weeks).
I'm on a 20.5 and a 14.4 right now, with 11.2, 6.4 and 6.4 hard drives on the secondary computer.
I'm not so sure I'll be downloading a bunch of stuff, my main concern is getting this webwork done. Busybusy

Man, I'm in Queens, NY, and the story ain't much better.
Time Warner's dragging their heels, Bell Atlantic is nowhere to be found (don't know if I would want their service anyway, from the stories I hear!).
I'm trying to find some deals using Covad right now. The cost is steep, at $60 a month, but it might be worth if they trow in a couple of free months, bringing the cost down to $50/month for a year.

Covad sux ass too. My best friend ordered DSL from them about 2 months ago and still is putting along at 45.5! They still have to work through Bull**** Atlantic which is famous for dragging its feet. He has already lost three days from work on blown-off appointments and each company simply blames the other one for why he hasn't gotten his DSL installed yet. This already beats the six weeks that he waited for Bell Atlantic to install ISDN at his old apartment. Jeez, Louise!!

I hear you, Atlas490! It sounds just like a buddy of mine at work, Mike. He ordered the **** about two months ago, and Bell Atlantic sent people out to his apartment three or more times. They just can't get their **** together!
Anyway, hopefully he'll be set by the end of this week. I'm waiting to see what he thinks of the service before I really consider going with the co. that he used.

I live in a rich neighborhood up near seattle. Every house in our neighborhood has at least 2 computers, and we all are on standard 56k modems connectiong at 28800bps or 26400bps! We can't get DSL, Cable Modem, or even ISDN here, (Even with all the people that work at Microsoft and Compaq living here) yet the people in the ghettos of downtown seattle, which a very small percentage of have ever even seen a computer, can get any of these broadband services easily. I think these companies should maybe look at the way they expand a little bit.
