how do you enter Q3 w/ password?

hmm. almost embarrassed to ask this after all the hours of quake i've played
but umm how do you connect to a server with a password???

I spend a lot of time in Q3 as well and I'd like to know myself !
Actually that is the reason I didn't get to play in the match (

password whatever

and connect to the server.
