Customer: What's the difference between the SB X-Gamer and the SB MP3+?
Employee: The X-Gamer is designed for games and the MP3+ is designed for music. The MP3+ will play MP3s at a higher sound quality.

But did you go over and put the smack down? When I find idiot "experts" I like to roll up on them and school the mofo's.

lol
thats the only reason i go to crapusa anymore. i have never seen an inteligent person work there. I really wonder where they get they're training.
Sorry, no smackdown. The customer was in a hurry, so he just grabbed the X-Gamer and paid for it. I was still in shock.
I was gonna, though. *sigh*
It's always the most fun messing with the employee's when they work on commission.
"Is this Pentium 600 megahurtz better than my iMac? I have a grape." and on and on and....

Well it's not only CompUSA that has the experts. I was in Best Buy today and a customer was talking to an employee about CDR Drives. He wanted a 12x CDr Drive and the employee was telling him there was no such thing. That the fastest record speed possible was 8x. Well just to embarass the sales person...I walked the customer over to the spot where they carry...guess what YES 12x CDr. They were just out and the sales person can't read the price tags. The employees response was "Oh that must be new. We haven't had our meeting on that yet." LOL
Humm I wondering if my parrot can get a job there. I can train him to say that...not to mention the extra income would be nice

I've also found most Best Buy and CompUsa employees clueless.
I actually was impressed by one of CompUsa's employee's one time though. I was near the modem aidle and this clueless lady asked about a modem. The employee not only directed her to the hardware based modems they had there (a creative labs isa modem blaster, a Diamond Supraexpress and Best Data) but told her why to avoid winmodems.
True story time: I used to go into Best Buy with this blue shirt on. People started coming up to me and asking questions. I stood there answering all their questions. Finally after the 6th person came up to me I said, "Why are you asking me?" He said, "Oh I thought you worked here." You guessed it my blue shirt was the same exact color and hue as a Best Buy employee.
Now I make sure not to wear that shirt whenever I go into Best Buy. The funny thing is I still stand there and help people out when their buying computer products. And I know where everything is. Want a printer cable? Its over there in that aisle.

I'm the same exact way sbp
Now I feel mean for not helping.
Does that mean I'm anti-social?
I could help, and I guess there might be some personal reward for helping, but as far as I can tell, its far more fun to sit there and watch the blind lead the blind. Am I a sadist? Maybe.
Its a good ego trip to sit there smugly while you watch people buying computers whose full capabilities they will never use.
