I myself love mountain dew. It is the beverage of my choice. I am second thinking it since I read this news article at Read Here Now!

Even The Office of the Surgeon General issued a warning. Oh god am I going to die

Dude, this past summer I was swilling down between 32 and 64 ounces everyday during a 2 hour period in the evening to keep awake while studying for an Intensive Summer Anatomy Class. That stuff had me so wired it wasn't even funny. I only crack out the "pure" stuff (read non-diet) when I got a test

    prtlewd... in layman's term
He was talking about the calcium disorder other than osteoperosis... so i think at least

by the way, wasn't this about mt.dew to begin with and not calcium deficiency?

The only way soda steal calcium is your body has a calcium storage problem (not present in 99% of people). I had an arguement with my GF about this and showed her the clinical research on this.

"not present in 99% of people"

Osteoporosis is more commen than 1%

but that is true, all it does is prevent your body from absorbing calcium so your body has to take it from your bones to substitute.

Hehe, osteoclast activity, or rather overactivity, in the remodeling cycle is what forms the basis for osteoporosis. Basically you body breaks down for too long before it builds up.

I was referring to endocrine disorders, like maybe a parathyroid tumor or something where the calcitonin isn't functioning properly and your bone reserves are messed.

Sorry to ramble like this, but this was exactly the topic of the lecture we had today. Tomorrow we have 3 hours of osteoporosis....Oh Joy!

I hate to admit that I was confused by our esteemed friends' jibberishlecture but, alas, I was confused! I figured if sodi pop had something to do with mining the calc. out of by poor brittle bones then I want to know how.

Hey, sometimes I don't even know what I'm thinking. It's scarry, I'll be sitting in class thinking something complex about human physiology or neuroanatomy or something, and then all of a sudden the other half of my head says why the hell are you stuck in this classroom when the beach is looking nice right now I was just talking smack anyway, J/K - I think
