1.5 weeks ago I placed a time sensitive item on sale on EBay. The date the item had to arrive was Monday December 1, 2003. The winning bidder purchased the item via the "Buy It Now" function on Monday November 24th and promptly paid me via Paypal.
As it was clearly stated in my auction, "Item will be delivered via UPS 2nd Day Air" So, on Tuesday Nov. 25th I dropped off the item with the UPS guys here at work and the item was in transit that night.
On Wed. Nov 26th, Fri. Nov 28th AND Mon. Dec 1st (8:47am) UPS attempted delivery to the recipient and nobody was available to sign for the package so naturally UPS left a notice and would attempt redelivery.
Last night at 9pm I receive an email from the person who purchased the item and he asked for his money back because he never received the item by Monday. I followed up with the UPS tracking and noticed that they had attempted delivery 3 times. I replied to the person asking him to call UPS to see if they will pay out the insurance (which I know they won't since they did attempt delivery 3 times) and I would gladly reimburse the guy. This morning when I arrived to work, I had another email again asking me to rectify the situation.
1) I clearly stated the item would be shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air and that is what the person PAID for.
2) I shipped the tickets on Tuesday, and delivery was attempted on 3 consecutive business days including the day of the event.
I'm pissed off because this guy isn't going to stop bothering me about getting his money back, even though I have no control over when he's home to accept the package. Also, i KNOW he is going to leave negative feedback. I delivered the goods promptly and they WOULD have arrived 5 days before the event, but he either wasn't home or didn't go pick it up from the UPS hub.
