I've been a Morbid Angel fan for at least 7 or 8 years now, so I've seen them live a handful of times. Tonight, despite 2 of the 4 bands slated to play not showing up (apparently DevilDriver didn't know about the show and Cattle Decapitation had to get the transmission of their van fixed) and the other band slated to play (Fallen Line) totally stinking up the place (They were awful! I thought my ears were bleeding!), Morbid Angel put on one of the best live shows I have ever seen in my life. There was a very thin turnout, but of course only the true fans were there, so it was an awesome time!
I actually got to hang out with the band in the tour bus with a friend after the show for about half an hour.![]()
It was so cool getting the chance to talk with Steve Tucker because he is from Cincinnati, which is where I attended school. Of course, we talked about UC basketball and whatnot, feelings about the last album, other side projects, etc. Tucker's in a heavy Pink-Floyd-like band, so we even talked about the Pink Floyd Live in Pompei DVD that was released in October.
Overall, the guys were super cool and I'm now considering the drive to Corpus Christi to see them on Friday.![]()
Please excuse the quality of these pictures, as they were taken with my camera phone in very low-light conditions with people shoving me from behind, so it was impossible to hold the shot still.
