    has anyone heard anything about the novell certification program for internet management/technology. it appears to be a fairly new program, and i'm wondering if anyone knows how useful it is. anytime you expand your knowlegde its a plus, but will this make an impact on my resume?

    I believe that the only things on a resume that matter are an MSCE and Experience. In my opinion Novell is going the way of the dinosaur.

    I agree with Fuz. The usefullness of Novell has gone down. Take a look at Cisco certification att.

    Thumbs down

    Yup. Don't bother w/Novell. Get your MCP & work towards MCSE. Also look into Cisco if you want to get into the hardware side as well.

    I say go with Cisco. Get this.

    CCNA = 1 test = $100
    MCSE = 6 tests = $600

    CCNA Starting salary = approx $50-60K (where I am anyway)

    It's just harder to "fake it" with a CCNA, though. You kinda have to have experience, unless you're REALLY good at memorizing.

    Experience and knowledge count more than ANY certification of any kind. Had my MCSE for over a year and STILL looking for a good job. (Stress the word GOOD).

    Well the ccna test is overly easy, so if they are palying 50-60k where you are living forjust a ccna consider it a rarity. The "inter/intra networking" industry is one that is based on experiance moreso than most of the others. yes a ccna is nice, but dont expect to get much of a job with JUST it.
