I am in deep crap Pt2., the conclusion.

Well, yesterday I had my first golf outing. I got to the golf course at 8am, ready to hit some balls down the range to get back into the feel. The caddy I had said that Tiger plays there all of the time (he also lives in orlando I guess), he used to go to blah blah course and he hated it, so he starts going to this one (ritz carleton). This made me pretty nervous, it must be one heck of a course if he plays there...

I get onto the first hole and whack 2 balls into the woods, said screw it and moved down. The other 5 people gave me some tips. My boss sucked worse than I did but the bankers were good->damn good.

The caddy's suggested scramble. Throughout the day I hit quite a few good balls that we played off of, which was cool since I was hitting better balls than the 2 bankers on my team. I stayed away from the woods and concentrated on the irons and was doing well with them during my drives, I had a solid 270yd hit once, nice confidence builder.

The whole game, 18 holes set a new course record, for the longest game. We took 7 hours to get through it, had to let 3 parties play through. I a, not too sure what was taking us so long, but the caddies were given a very nice tip for having to put up with crap for the next month from the other caddies.

I still have my job and I even impressed the bankers and my boss a bit. My biggest problem now is that I try to hit the ball harder than I should, I need to control my strength and concentrate on hitting it dead on instead of whacking it. Second problem is is that I am not swinging in a smooth motion. Last, my putting game sucks, I am either too hard or too soft, but that comes with practice.

Anyway, I got some good tips from you guys and it is appreciated. I lost about 9 balls, the caddies dont go into the woods since there are a lot of snakes and gators.

It was cold, 60 degrees, I had on pants and a short sleeve shirt, the wuss bankers and my bosses had on windbreakers and everything. I am wind burnt and sun burned right now, pasty white boys should put on sunscreen when golfing...

I had a ton of fun and I want to go again, obviously not at that course since it costs too dang much. Just need to call the caddie I had and he is going to help me a bit more.

nice! sounds like everything turned out well.

a scramble is always a great formate when you have golfers who suck. it makes the game move along faster and lets everyone have their moment of helping the "team"

We had carts, 6 players in one big group with 4 carts, extra seat for one of the caddies.

We stopped mid-way for something quick but the front 9 took us about 4 hours.

It was kinda cool to see the bankers hook balls way off into the woods while I was hitting them straight down the fairway.

I would go into the setup and try to whack the ball and I would miss. I would think more about the next swing, concentrate on keeping my head down and a nice even, slower swing. One thing I did to help myself relax and concentrate on the ball was turn the lettering to me so I could read the ball, my cousin told me that little trick. When I did that I would nail it near perfect 50% of the time, the rest is just perfecting the body motion.

Man...now you're making me wanting to go to the range...and it's 20 degrees out

Did you take any lessons or did you just practice a lot?

1 45min lesson from a guy in Naples FL

45 min of hitting with the caddy giving me tips

I hit the bomb on the 10th hole, so 4+ hours watching other people and hitting myself = 270yrd hit.

    That's pretty impressive, LK...

Congrats on doing so well. I'm in awe!

Last time I tried to golf, without about the same
background as you started with, it was a comedy
of errors. I almost killed an elderly lady, narrowly missed
taking the windshield out of a passing police car, and just
    generally sucked.

No way I could have pulled off what you did...
And I found that hope and a lucky card
were all I had to walk with me...
