Ok, what band do you think is the best? (not single vocalist, that means britney spears is out boys and girls )

personally, i'm swaying heavily towards weezer (they're going to be at warped tour! wahoo!)

    Thumbs up

R.E.M. Would've been Smashing Pumpkins, but due to there recent announcement of breaking up on KROQ, I am deeply saddened.

As far as skill goes, I would have to say that Rush is probably the best band I have ever heard. But don't take this at face value. I think their vocalist sucks *** ****** ** ***.

My personal favorite band when considering musical talent would have to be sevendust.

Present Band would have to be Garbage. They're definitely in the top 5 for powerful bands in the last couple of years, and they are defined as a Band. Smashing Pumpkins is also a fav of mine.

For Bands that aren't as strong now, R.E.M. has to be one of the best of my time, and my favorite group of all time Depeche Mode. I was at that concert in the Rose Bowl where they recorded "Everything Counts" live. Remember, these guys had a record signing so big over 1/2 million people came to downtown LA, and the police had to move in

As far as The Beatles - I love them but don't remember them. Rush? Hmm, are you dating yourself?

Not really. The local "rock" radio stations play a whole lotta older stuff. I probably hear ac/dc at least once every hour.

nirvana is the best band of all time

i dont think it would be the beatles cuz their lyrics just plain suck. they have no meaning and are all full of fluff. i just gotta go with nirvana.

wow, you have 30 posts! Wow...i have...2/3 of 1000. I suddenly feel depresesed at my need for a life outside of this board. Once I get back to San Diego over the summer, I'll be too distracted with my girlfriend (yes, the whole time ) to post on this board, so i guess I'm just filling the void for the meantime (i just feel wasteful when i play games for too long...so i come here).
Back to the topic at hand...my favorite band is still Blink, and my favorite vocalist is possibly Marshall Mathers (eminem). Yes, i know you said best band, not vocalist, so i listed them too.

ProMinx: heh lucky you getting distracted by your girlfriend. my boyfriend lives 5 miles away and i'm STILL on here all the time.. i mean everything i do with him is boring! the few things that we do.. like we went to this huge rock concert called the hfstival and that was boring. i fell asleep! oh well enough of my relationship gripes haha. tomorrow i am going out! i'm going to the mall bright and early (so i'll be nice and tired to take a nap) to get my free pillow! yay!

The pumpkins. Even if they are breakin' up, their Twins, Mellon Collie, and Adore are T-riffic albums.
