NSS/SS: This Weekend

This weekend is not at all what I planned to do. First off, I have had this nagging cough that developed about a week ago and has gotten progressively worse. So I have been doing the human impression of a cat with bad hairballs.

Now on Thursday or Friday my boss informed me that I had to come to work on Saturday for a couple of hours, just so he could give us our assignments for the week while he was gone. I asked if we could make it early as I had things to do and was promptly told that the earliest it could be was 11am. I woke up and felt even worse than I had been, but knew that I couldnt call out of the meeting. I decided to suck it up and just go in, heck I would be home in a couple of hours. Right.....WRONG. I got there at 11 and he didnt freaking see me until 3...the meeting lasted an hour, so I finally go home around 5! The entire freaking day was lost and I was feeling progressively worse and worse.

I finally decided to go see a doctor because I was worried that I had somehow developed pneumonia or bronchitis from the way I was feeling. I headed to the urgent care clinic where I was treated by a quack of a doctor! Either way, I was informed that I had a viral infection and was given a supposedly highly potent cough syrup with codine. That doctor also told me that I can only use "straight" medicines, no nyquil/dayquil or the like. As a result of the things she told me to take, I got NO SLEEP last night. I woke up with a fever and feeling like I have been run over and still feel that way.

I was supposed to go car shopping today, which I needed to do for two reasons. First, because we wanted to buy a new car before the wedding. Secondly because I was supposed to get my fiance out of the house and to her shower. Thus my sickness royally screwed that up.

Now for the NSS part, I just found out that my mother actually arranged for my Fiances mother to be at the shower. Her mother had told her that she was going to be gone on vacation and couldnt come, so she had been really upset about it. I didnt even know about this, so this just made me happy to hear.

Took my dad to the hospital this weekend. My cousin called me Saturday morning and told me was acting funny. Got him to a hospital and before I could fill out the ER paperwork my dad was called up immediately.

He was trying to pay for gas at like 3am when clearly the gas station was closed. Pushing the call attendant button when no one was working but put the pump in the gas tank anyway. He doesn't carry a credit card and the pump isnt like a vending machine where you just insert a bill in. Then he was talkg funny and walking funny.

Anyways all day they just took tests and nothing came up. oh wait background, my dad had a major heart attack 20 years ago and a major stroke about 10 years ago and a few minor ones past couple years ago. So after 8 hours I think of him patiently waiting we went home since nothing new showed up on the test. He only got irritated since they wanted him to stay.

That was my weekend. He went to see our family doctor for a followup to schedule other tests on out patient basis since we went AMA.
