    need help... WHAT TO BUY?!??!?!?!?!?!

ok, so it looks like best buy is having their 10% off sale this weekend (getting those coupons in the mail).

i also have maybe $240 in best buy GCs. so, what should i buy??!

    1) dvd-rw - probably a plextor. i would get one, but i don't have much use. i'm still trying to get my PS2 mod to work, if it was working, i'd chose that.

    2) portable mp3 player - can't be iPod i guess. so what else is really good? i mean tops at best buy.

    3) uh ... ? i don't know what else :-/

i don't have a TON of money to spend (like buy a NICE tv for a grand after a lot in savings, etc)

    so, any help/suggestions on 1), 2) or 3) ? thanks!

ok ok ... i see what you're saying about the DVD burners. not up for wireless, just cause. i got a 9800np for xmas.

i have a nice sony digital cam, but i THINK one of those digital elphs (canon?) would be cool. i want something that is very good - quality and features - and very tiny! so any suggestions on other brands of cameras??

i have an hp all in one printer, 4 harddrives, don't care for wireless devices, have 4 harddrives .. don't watch enough dvds on the tv to make a player worthwhile (right now at least).

that xm or sirius receiver does sound cool, but i don't know if i want to pay a subscription, but i do like how you can take anywhere. maybe that would be another thing.

i could always wait till their next coupon sale. i haven't checked, but i'm sure best buy starts to deduct GC values after a year-2 years.

i thank you for your help though!

You should buy Grimm large S-ATA hard drives.

You want to upgrade your PC quite a bit? What are you using for a power supply? How about a nice big quiet quality power supply? A good power supply will extend the life of your components by providing smooth power and limiting heat and vibration. It's an excelent investment.

More memory is always a good thing, especilay if it is high quality.

The Zen Xtra is a nice unit. I picked up a 30gigger a few weeks ago for $219.

It's a little bigger than the iPod, and the UI isn't nearly as slick. The ipod wins on "coolness", hands down.

But the Xtra's got a longer battery life, more storage for the buck, and apparently slightly better sound quality (at least by reputation, I haven't compared them side by side myself).

Rio Karma is another one to look at. Less storage for the money than the Xtra, but it's got the best DJ and playback features of any of the mp3 players on the market. Also has a docking station with an ethernet jack, which is cool.

I really wanted a Karma, but settled for the extra storage space of the Zen Xtra instead of the cool features of the Karma. I can carry my entire collection on the Zen. Would have had to leave stuff behind on the Karma...
And I found that hope and a lucky card
were all I had to walk with me...

best buy had Kingston HyperX 512MB sticks for 99.99 AR (111.99 before tax). so, i had my parents pick up 2 sticks with the gift cards. i guess there's like $10.00 left. i kind of want legally blond on DVD, and i might get chappelle show season 1. now i just need to install these bad boys they'll go well with my 2 sticks of 256MB HyperX
