XBox, mp3s, and the soundtracks to your games...

is there a way to put mp3s on an Xbox and have games (ie. any of the EA Sports titles) use the mp3s as the soundtrack? does it HAVE to be one of those games where it EXPLICITLY STATES that it supports customizable music (like the ESPN sports series)?

They support wav files, not mp3's. It sucks I know, but what you have to do is either take legit music cd's and have the xbox rip them into wma format(i believe it rips them into this). SOME xbox's can read certain cd-r's or cd-rw's. There are lots of sites that list it depending on the make of your xbox.

Well...certain xboxes can read CD-RW, but all can read DVD-R. If you can burn it onto that.

Sorry i was behind on this one. If you still haven't found a site, try
    Here

Or the easiest test i know is that if you look at the open dvd drive. If it has two nickel sized holes in the loader, then you have a drive which can read just about anything

Ya the new drives do load a little faster. I don't have time to search for the sites now, but if you go to forum.teamxbox.com and search their forums for your questions(cd-r/cd-rw/dvd drives) you will get lots of hits with the links.

I used to be a tester for MS in their xbox area for liscence verification you could say(outsourced to VMC hired by Volt). So we would test the games before they could go public to make sure their weren't any major problems. I remember at the time(summer 2002) that they had 8 different configs for the xbox. That number was growing as they were testing new configs every week. So I can see it being at 15-20 right now. Pretty fun stuff
