    Current Video Card Recommendations

Hey guys..my friend and I have been trying to decide on video cards..I know HL2/Doom3/FarCry, etc are just around the corner..But I really want a card..Would you guys recommend waiting? Or is now a good time to get one? Should I wait for PCI express cards to come out so AGP cards will drop in price? I've been looking at Radeon9700 Pro's and Geforce FX 5900XT's..9800's are still a little too expensive..I don't think the 9600's have enuf performance in them for the future..What are your rec's?

    Thanks in advance
    Jordin

This thread addresses PCI Express more than current video cards.

I have seen 9800 Pros on sale. Last week I think it was Comp USA had it for $199 and Frys actually had it for $149. Probably rebates involved, but there are some deals out there. Found the Comp USA ad- it ended Saturday 2/21, but it was for $299 -$70 instant -$30 rebate.

Get the most expensive (price performance) you can afford.
