I live in Redmond WA, right outside of seattle, but I go to school in Boston, go BU.

I was wondering if anyone new of any good east/west coast banks. Right now I have to have 2 accounts which is really a pain, Bank of America sucks, so I should probably get rid of them, you have to use a modem to do their crappy online banking. And I use Fleet in boston, not too bad, lots of online stuff. Just wondering if anyone knew of any good banks.

You don't have to dial into BofA, you can just go to their website...
But I agree completely, B&M banks just don't make sense for most normal transactions. I'm switching my money to First Internet Bank of Indiana, www.firstib.com. Gomez has a pretty sweet deal on them, give it a shot. I'm washing my hands of BofA just as soon as I can.

Ya I just checked BofA's website and you have to download software which allows you to dial into to them, so you can't connect with out a modem, and I have dsl so I haven't used a modem in a long time.

here is what their site says:
"You can use HomeBanking with Banker On Line software from any IBM-compatible computer with Windows and a modem. It connects you directly to your accounts at Bank of America without going through an internet service provider."

Oh well, but ya I need to get rid of them, they charged me 25 bucks cause I overdrew my account by $2, damn.

Thats odd. I connect to BofA through the website without any probelms. I can check my account, make transfers and etc. Don't know what your problem is, never had to download software.

I was confused too, but I think there might be a service that allows you to do more stuff if you download the software?? I dunno, the website provides everything I need, and I don't mind the hassle of using a *gasp* ISP!

Ahh ha, I just finally figured this damned thing out, you can do the BofA online if you are in Cali, but not up here in Washington for some dumb reason, blah I hate this bank.
