    THE CAR IS NICE.
I WILL LIKE TO COMPLETE THIS TRANSACTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE I WILL BE

For whatever reason, something seems out of whack to me. A) why would a canadian be looking at the craigslist for southern california? b) what person accepts a price without haggling c) the p.s. stuff makes me think that if I respond I am going to be spammed out the wazzoo.

So yes, I was stupid and actually listed a real email address for one of my hotmail accounts....which makes me worry about responding. What does everyone think?

Here's how the scam works: He sends you a bogus (but very real looking) money order. Your bank won't even be able to tell it's fake. You immediately deposit the money. A few days later, he contacts you with a huge sob story, like his father died or something, and needs the money back to get to the funeral. He would like you to send the cash by Western Union (since he's in a big hurry) and will let you keep $1,000 or whatever for your trouble. You think "Wow, I get $1,000 and I get to sell the car again!" So you head down to Western Union and send the cash.

Two weeks later your bank calls you and tells you that the money order was bogus and you need to deposit money to cover it. You are screwed. You'll try to blame the bank, but unfortunately, they have lawyers and you don't.

???? I dont have a lawyer? Good one.

As for the money order scam....I am only going to accept cash or cashier's checks, which should be secure. My main concern was replying with that information to what seemed to be a questionable address.

I was speaking in general about people who would fall for this scam. Of course you wouldn't! I actually know people who fell for this (friends of a friend...) and they were dumber than a box of rocks. My friend asked them why they didn't seek advice before going through with the scam; they said they didn't want to "jinx" it!

I think its funny that a canadian is looking at a socal craiglist. That is really weird. however, i don't think its weird that he didn't haggle. I sold my sister's car and there was no haggling at all. they paid my listed price.

Sure, for a small exchange of money I will be more than happy to hand over the keys. I will even give you a special price on it.
