    Sound card preferences

What brand of sound card do people prefer to use?

I ask because I have an Audigy Platinum that tweeks out sometimes in games, but other programs use my hardware perfectly.

I'm stil using Sound Blaster Live from way back. It's been great for all my machines.

I have an Audigy1394 that I love, because I game a lot and EAX 2.0 is really great.

I was thinking of upgrading to an EAX 3.0 Audigy 2, but have yet to see any good data on CPU usage.

there is no discernable difference. but as far as sub $124 cards go, SB Audigy2 and Audigy are the best.

I went from a 1993 SB 16MCD with CDrom drive support, to a Aureal VortexSQ2500, which sounded good, then in 2002 I bought a SB Audigy MP3, the clarity difference was noticable from everything mp3 wise to games. sounds were and are clean.
