Thread: iPoD....

    iPoD....

    well recently got an ipod and still pretty new to the Pod. When i plug my Pod into the firewire port it reads okay the first time. When i take unplug the Pod and plug it in again my system can't read the Pod...does anyone know what the problem is?

    it sounds asif you removed the iPod without ejecting it (at least on the mac). I havent used an iPod with windows, so i dont know if you need to eject it before you unplug it. If you restart the system, does it see it again?

    I had a lot of problems with that when using MusicMatch with PC. I switched to iTunes for PC and it's been a lot better.

    still doesn't recognize when i restart. i wonder if its my fire port.

    you might have to "Safely Unplug your Hardware"

    in the System Tray at the bottom right, there should be an icon that lets you unplug your USB/Firewire hardware.

    my computer recognizes it now as a harddrive. not A Mp3 player...

    also on iTunes i don't see the iPod source.

    if you are using the firewire port of a soundblaster card, well, those things are notoriously futzy.

    =X...then i think i found the problem then...cause i'm using the fireport on my soundcard...thanks Miller.
