    Angry DealSonic

I just purchased an external USB2.0/Firewire enclosure from DealSonic last Tuesday and finally got it on Tuesday afternoon. When I open up the box, what do I find? A much cheaper USB2.0 only unit instead. The receipt they stuffed in the box even had the correct part number and description for the unit I purchased and the box was clearly labeled as being a USB2.0 only unit. Now I have to RMA this stupid thing to get the unit I paid for.

Dealsonic has VERY restrictive RMA procedures such as no RMAs over the phone, email only, etc so I sent them an email early in the morning yesterday and I have yet to hear from their RMA department about an RMA number. Also, I have to pay for return shipping to them, essentially doubling my shipping cost and pushing out when I will get the unit I paid for because of their screw-up. This is my first purchase from them and likely will be my last depending on how they handle this.

Has anyone else had any problems with Dealsonic?

I'd let Apex or Leon know about this. They usually take care of Apex'ers who have problems with advertisers.

I PrintScreen one or two windows including the final checkout screen. And, of course, print out the receipt screen too. More documentation always helps.

I had a problem with a cancelled order through compgeeks.com. Pulled the cc, complained to everyplace I could think of, and two weeks later got the item picked (back) up by FedEx, at no expense. Now Citibank says "well, we don't think your complaint/ action was valid". Soooo, I may have a little fight with them now. I don't think I would've gotten anyone's attention otherwise, if I didn't stop the cc.

Compgeeks turned things around and was cordial, but it took 2 weeks, actually almost three weeks, to get the ball rolling. It was a $150 worth of mechandise.

Elsewhere in this forum, I posted about Amazon. I'm still amazed at how pleasant that turned out. :-)

Well, I haven't heard from them yet so I just sent them another email and I attached my order email as well as my original email requesting an RMA. I'll let you know what they say when they finally get back to me Leon.

I think this just taught me to always shop at Newegg or SVC no matter how good the deal might be.

Well I just got a very apologetic email from them with a Fed-Ex shipping label attached (print out and attach to the front of the box). Well this is looking better now.

Thank you Leon for giving them a little "persuasion".

Thats the problem with shopping on the net. Most of these sites never let you actually talk to someone by phone. I hate it when I have to twiddle my thumbs and wait for the automated email to arrive 2 days later saying "we need more information to process your complaint."
