Fools, the 20th century is not over yet. Do the math, there is no "zero" year. The panicking has just begun, not ended. Muhahahaha

Ya if we were computer simulations you would never know it, because they could stop or pause it at anytime, but for us we would not realize the stopage. Crazy stuff to think about, especially the fact that if you were just a simulation they could just delete you. It will be interesting in the future when we develop AI.

Anyone ever see that movie "The Thirteenth floor"? It sucked royally but same premis.

Machines - humans....what's the difference. We both use electrochemical energy to function. Both are Carbon/Silicone based. Blah Blah Blah. Stop your whining and get to work slaves....

Whoa, sorry about that. Reverend Evil had my mind for a minute there

Why? it appears the lunatics are severly underfunded if the fbi were able to stop them. So I say give the lunatics money.

haha =) yes we are very similar but they lack one essitial ingredient.. we are organic and can form new connections while machines currently are limited.. then agian......

Current medical knowledge seems to indicate that by the time you are born all the neurons in your brain, Spinal Cord, and most of your PNS are formed. The process of learning actually involves weeding out redundant pathways and non-essential material.

There are learning computers now where code has been designes such that it evaluates its own efficiency. When don't even know the level of sentience (sp?) of animals like dolphins and elephants it's scary to thing computer might become self-aware.

Yeah, I meant silicon, Silicone is a Trade Name for a compound. Sorry, my mind is still off from summer vacation.

With respects to the Carbon/Silicon basis, I mean't we use a Central Quad binding molecule. Computers could use carbon for a base, but the parts wouldn't last nearly as long and everything would run ridiculously slow. That is until we learn how to properly use superconductants to build ultrafine microarchitecture. Imagine 0.020 micron devices as opposed to what we have now.

Cold fussion baby! I want my Diamond Rio Model 716546700 to play for 3 milleniums on an internal cold fusion reactor.

OK, I've had too much Dr. Pepper. I think we have an understanding. I bid you adeu.

for post number 500, i just want to say that colossus knows to much for his own good. nah, mad props to you! i actually knew all of that also. i'm planning to go into artificial intelligence and i just read a book called "the age of spiritual machines." it talked all about the process of configuring computers to think and feel like humans.

The Book of Revelation according to Cayce

    ...

The final book of the Bible is called the Book of Revelation. Written by a man named John (possibly John the Apostle) toward the end of his life, he records a vision he experiences while in meditation. This vision contains a tremendous amount of symbolism; the same kind of symbolism one would see in a dream, a vision of the spirit world. In fact, it contains the same symbolism found in the prophet Daniel's dream. All such Biblical visions, such as Peter's dream of a sheet filled with unclean animals being let down to earth, are not to be taken literally. There are always hidden meanings behind the symbols. The symbols involved in such visions and dreams represent spiritual archetypes having a much deeper meaning than a literal interpretation. Such is the case with the Book of Revelation.

    ...

Looks like a load of dookie. Strange how people would be more willing to believe this kind of stuff then the Bible itself.

"The 20th century will bring death and destruction, apostasy of the Church, discord in the families, cities and governments; it will be the century of three great wars with intervals of some decades. They will turn more devastating and bloody and they will leave in ruins not only Germany, but all the countries of the Est and West. (...) After a great defeat of Germany, a great war will come. There won't be bread for the people and food for animals. Poisonous clouds, created by human hands, will lower and will exterminate everything. The human mind will be taken by madness."*~Maria Laach
