RIP. A great man, and a great leader. He presided over some of the greatest changes the world has seen in this generation.

And Apex, what's up with my Howard Dean being gone? Did the Administration get to you, too?![]()

See, there it goes. He wasn't a great man. He did good in the world, but he did some pretty crappy things too. He was a president, who died in a really sucky way. Making him better th an he was is just as bad as making him out to be satan.
You did your best, though, so take it easy, Gipper. Now go haunt GWB and tell him to pull his head out.

Apperantly zenbooty, canta, and quite a few other on this board can't figure out that their political views and comments need to be kept to the politics forum.

I didn't realize he was 93, though. Wow. The man lived a nice, long life.

Not my favorite politician, but RIP nonetheless.
M-I-Z . . . Z-O-U!
It is a shame that his mind deteriorated like it did at the end. Nancy seemed like a sweet lady and so I feel bad that she had to see her man like that. When I was a kid I didn't know squat about politics but I always thought he was kind of cool. It wasn't until I got into college that I learned about his administration. However although I didn't agree with many of the things he did, I still maintained some respect for him. I hope that now he is at peace, and I hope that his family can have some peace as well.

Yes it is. My wife's grandmother passed away in December after coming down with Alzheimer's 7 years ago. It was hardest on her eldest son, my Father-in-law, since he and my Mother-in-law were the primary care givers for her. She was in a nursing home for 2 years and then hospice care for over 2 years and one of them would be with her 5-6 days a week for 4-5 hours a day. They would feed her, take her around outside, take her to the park, etc. She started forgetting to speak english and would respond in dutch about a year before she passed. They couldn't have any pictures around her because she would cut/tear them up (she couldn't remember who they were in the pictures so she would get upset for about 5 minutes). Alzheimer's is one of the most cruelest diseases of all.Originally Posted by topane

I think over again
My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.
And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:
To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.
