S: Best Buy Award certs must be redeemed w/in 90 of issuance

i didn't know this. i thought, hmmm, i paid for a year's membership, my certs should be good for a year. so i've been saving them for halo 2 and xbox online. well, i picked them up the other day and noticed that i had about $30-40 worth of expired certificates. ****!!! wtf is up with making you use them in 90 days?

HAHA. This is really funny, but don't throw them away, you are not screwed. You have 2 options, I have heard you can contact the reward zone dept. and they can re-issue the certificates, OR you can go to the store, play it cool and try to pay with them. If they do not go through, ask for a manager. If the manager still says no, use the worlds "what about customer satisfaction", or "I thought ya'll were supposed to be customer centric". dont forget "It is just $40 bucks, I am purchsing a $200 item, I shop here alot"

You just have to learn how to use the best buy system to your advantage.

I was in bestbuy and a lady had $120 in certificates, and she just went right to the managers and they ate it at the store level.

Are those store certificates like gift certificates? If they are treated as gift certificates and you live in CA they NEVER expire regardless what the fine print says. Also they cannot charge you a "maintainence" fee for having the certificates. If they are just $$ off coupons, you're out of luck.

    YMMV

The are reward zone gift certs, CA law does not apply to them (i do not think) the way bestbuy works it. Basically these are coupons that have no cas value and can take 5-10 off per each one on a purchase as long the purchase is over 10 dollars.
