    Closing yahoo mail

is there any way to do it? I like my yahoo mail account but lately it's being spammed. So... I'd like to shut to down for a while and then re-start it again. If anyone knows how I'd appreciate the help.

wow - you cant use the filter options? you can set it up so domains are also filtered under BLOCK ADDRESSES, in Mail Options. its a pain at first to get all the domain names of the spam that isnt fitered right, but after youve entered them (up to 100 domains), you usually dont see them anymore. at least i know i dont.
one thing i did notice - the SPAM button actually works ( it reports the domain to yahoo, but it also creates a very specific email line in the blocked addresses list, so it fills up the block list fast. thats when i manually enter just the domain that it came from).
there are pictures, but no,nothing happens on my site.

I know about the filter option but they just come in different forms. I don't use the email address much but I like my login name and don't want to change that. I'm tired of having to go to my email and all I do is click spam. I suppose I'll do the domain filter.

Do I just go where I can enter in addresses to block and type in @blank.com for the domain or just blank.com

blank.com is the way i do it. its a great way to NOT receive anymore mail from the really persistent ones.
but if you prefer also to be able to browse what may be legit, just look in the bulk folder. it catches a good amount of spam. in my main inbox, i usually get maybe 1 or 2 spams, but thats it.

that is, if you have the bulk folder enabled. you may already have it up, but sometimes yahoo doesnt enable it by default. check your mail options also for that feature. it works pretty well, although it has on occassions "bulked" some emails that were sorta legit (mostly newsletters from ticketmaster, or from newegg, or from other sites i may have bought merchandise from). apparently, from its database of other reported spam, they were considered as ssuch.

D'oh! I have Yahoo, and I was about to agree with everyone else...their spam filter is pretty darn good.
