    Old version of Nero

    Where can I find them?

    why?

    (most of us have old v3 and v4 CDs...you can also prolly find older versions using Kazaa, DC, etc)

    I don't think I could burn DVD with Nero 3 or 4.

    Honestly, I've found nothing wrong with Nero 6.... however finding a "legit copy" of older editions of Nero is gonna be hard.

    You might wanna check out on Ebay or something...

    what version are you looking for, specifically? If it's 4 or 5-I may go a diggin' into my old disc spools.

    They used to have older versions on the nero.com website. No longer?

    Basically I am just trying to check something out with one of the older versions...

    the problem is whenever I burn over 16x my buffer read speed goes up and down from zero to about 100% throughout the whole burning process...any ideas

    I do at times, but even if I restart the computer and that is the only thing I run...the same thing happens...

    This only happens to me when I do CD to CD copy.

    Check and make sure that the IDE channel that your burner is on is using DMA (not PIO). You can access that through the device manager. It'll require a reboot if you make that change.

    While you're at it check to make sure your HD is in DMA mode also.
