What's the best cure for athlete's foot?

I have a small case of it. No burning or itching but there's (sorry) some dead skin between the toes. It doesn't really bother me that much except for the fact that I slipped in the shower in the hotel in baltimore and the edge of the shower cut right between my pinkie, and, umm, next to pinkie toe. the exact place where the skin is dead. it hurt like a mother****er.

so, what's the best powder/medicine/way to cure athlete's foot?

I had a case of it and the doctor gave me the prescription form of Lotrimin. What I got is a higher concentration of the OTC form. If worked fine for me - also make sure that you always wear clean socks (some people use socks more than one day between washing?) and alternate shoes. I found that when I got rid of a certain pair of leather shoes and used the cream on the affected area, my problem went away within a week.
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

when you are in the shower, urinate on your foot.

gross sounding i know, but it works and (best of all) it's free.
yeah, pretty much we missed the boat on that one. but it's still here. get you some.

Cut off the toe. Gets rid of the fungus immediately.

I've peed on my foot and used Lotrimin. I prefer the urine. I'm kidding.

The tinactin is alright, but one time I had a bad case and I was using it to the point where it became almost preventative more than anything. Lotrimin was good to cure it pretty well. The best I ever had was a prescription for athlete's foot/jock itch (TMI I know), and that was good. But it was basically an OTC drug. I think it was clotrimazole at 1%? Anyhow, yeah all of that worked for me.

But there are better qualified folk to answer for specific drugs.

When I had athlete's foot a couple of years ago, my doctor gaves me a bunchs of free samples of this cream that was supposed to take two weeks. Went away with only one week's use and keeping the foot dry (sandles).
