    Replacement Speakers

Ok, sounds to me like one of the speakers in my car is on it's way out, so I'm going to need to replace them. However, I'm not really in the market for high-end equipment, but I'd like something at least eqivalent. I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Infinity Gold speakers. I know these are far worse than the Kappa's, so I'm not sure I"m in the market for those. I just want something that's just as good, but not $400 good Any suggestions?

You're going to have to be more specific with price, because you get what you pay for.

And, because there are a few audio junkies on the boards here that will say "YOU'D BE A MORON NOT TO GET THESE $350 SPEAKERS!..."

All my full-range and components in my car were less than $60/pair, and they sound awesome-because I sound dampened my doors and power them with a nice, clean amp.

If you want my $0.03 (inflation) I would go to www.sounddomain.com and www.crutchfield.com and read some reviews. I'm a big pioneer fan (for low-mid $$ speakers) because they have consistantly performed much better than all other fulls that I have heard in their price range.

If you don't have your speakers amped-that's where you need to put your priorities.

I'm mainly looking for equivalent speakers. I have no idea where the Infinity Gold line falls in the quality spectrum.

As far as price, I could go up to a couple of hundred, but I'd rather not if I can get equivalent speakers for cheaper

I just bought some CDT CL-61T separates from thezeb.com.
    http://www.thezeb.com/CDTAudio.aspx?...=Cl-61a&cl-61t
They are better sounding than the $300 speakers at CC and only cost $150 and there was 15% off also. If you dont need separates, they have CDT CL-6X for $59.95. If you go with separates go with the titanium if you like rock and rap or grab the silk tweeter version for a nice softer sound.

<edit> You might need an amp to push the separates. Double check if they will fit. The 5 1/4's are also nice. <edit>
