Finally! With the guts Mercedes has been showing with their recent cars, perhaps their brass will push Mitsubishi to finally export some of their good cars to the US. I'm still waiting for the Lancer Evolution. *sigh* The new EVO VII will be unbelievable if news is correct (Gasoline Direct Injection change to the 4g63 engine will take it up 30% in torque. Current torque rating is 285lb/ft or so).

The engine comes very close to passing cali smog laws, and when it gets GDI next year, it'll definitely pass. It's based on the same engine as the last 2 generations of eclipse turbos, the 4g63.
The problem is mitsubishi doesn't see a $26k, all wheel drive, 320hp, 285lb/ft of torque, all wheel steering, 4 channel 4 sensor abs, recaro seats, 2nd generation airbag, intercooled ceramic turboed, 2800lb, 0-60 in high 4 seconds, quarter mile in the 12's, 4 door vehicle as selling well.... or selling so well it'll canibolize their Galant sales. It was a pure marketing decision.

yeah, i heard it was a third or something

We can only hope they start importing good cars here. It bugs me that some of our top of the line cars are only their base or mid models. ARGH!
-
Yep, it's like 34%, which, according to Japanese law, makes them a controlling interest.
-
we'll never get them over here, atleast not the way they were meant to be. our country has too many strict laws re:emissions and stuff, especially california. i cant think of any other thing about cali that makes me not want to live here.

WHAT?????
sorry but wtf is wrong with mitsubishi????
Apex if those specs are right...and at that price. well, i'ld be the first one in line to buy one.

Well, the bottom ont he line lancer is just a mirage. It's the top of the line one that's so special.

dont forget that this is the car that will be used in the world rally championship, and has been used so far. it's a great car, but that gets lost on americans for some reason. the same thing is happening with the ford focus. ford tries to market as a car for cool people rather than showing it in action in a rally, sliding through snowy corners and jumping off of sh!t.
