Has anyone ever heard of copartfinder.com?

I was looking around. It allows you to call up salvage yards around the country to find car parts off of crashed cars.

Just go look at it..they show the crashed cars...some of them are definitely worth some fatality points.

Sad, in a sadistic way. Apperantly some salvage companies are still willing to sell car parts even if they have been involved in fatality crashes.

Still, it's an interesting look.

I don't see why this would matter to a company that sells salvagable parts. Who in thier right mind would say "I can't use that alternator, someone died in that car!".

Don't think I'm a heartless bastard either though, I just lost one of my best friends in a car accident last week.

he does have a point. i wouldn't mind getting a transmission off a car that was involved in a fatal crash. i might draw the line at picking up a seat off it though.

I bought my 1994 Jetta GL from an auction in 1994 I don't know if it was involved in a fatality but sometimes it would act like it was possesssed the horn would go off and the hazards would blink and it would slow down it was scarey but I never thot anything of it.

uh, exactly what is salvagable off that beetle? I seriously don't see anything, except for maybe some pieces of carpet in the rear boot...

More likely it was involved in an accident (check carfax.com about the vehicle's history) and the electrical is screwed up. Better check the electrical ratings in the consumer reports buyer's guide. Just look it up for 94 cars. A cheap way is to go to the bookstore and looking up the reliability on electrical components.

Otherwise, it is sorta scary
