As someone who has lived here for 25 years, let me tell you this: it's just going to rain A LOT. And the winds are gonna be stronger than usual. You'll hardly feel it in Orlando.
When Andrew came barrelling through, that was pretty fierce, but generally we just get the minor hurricanes and tropical storms that level trailer parks.

Well, game is postponed till monday. The 'cane is heading almost directly for Orlando. We were told not to come into work at all.
Universal let us park our cars in the garage, had a friend take us there and drop us back off. This is going to be an interesting night.
My friend moved to Port Charlotte last year. I called him and he is very concerned about possible flooding there. I hope he makes it.

I heard something on the news about 1MM evacuated. Has it hit yet?

My fiance's parents live in Naples and it's really starting up there. Its going to hit somewhere south of Tampa at about 5pm. My aunt and uncle live in Sarasota (south of Tampa) and they evacuated a couple days ago, went up to Jacksonville I think.
Winds are up to 125 mph. It should go down some before it hits here, 60mi or so northeast of tampa, but its going right over orlando right now.
Jeb said that the evac might be bigger than the last big 'cane that hit mainland, 1.5m displaced, so they are projecting as many as 2m.

Chucles is a Cat4 now, news conference said there are going to be a lot of uprooted trees, tornados, flash floods, its going to peg Orlando directly.

A good chunk of Florida is below sea level... and the water table is very high.

I was very diappointed when they told me there are no basements.You should have them build it underground
I love my current basement.
It just started to get really bad in the last 20min. Lots of rain and T&L. Windows are taped and we have an interior closet we can go to
