An Issue With Firefox

I'm a very keyboard-oriented person. I like using the mouse as little as possible. So when I want to go to this site for instance, I'll type [windows key]+r, www.gotapex.com/forums, [enter].

With IE it always just loaded up the webpage as if I had opened up internet explorer and typed it in that way. It still does this, but I get an error message every time saying that windows can't find "www.gotapex.com" or whatever website it happens to be. It's annoying. Anybody know a way to remedy this?
