    i think the record companies probably started that rumor to convince people to buy CDs instead of burning their own

    I was wondering if it was bad to play CD-R's in car stereos?...does it cause the deck to lose its durability or something like that?

    that isn't true, you can play cdr's as much as you like and nothing will happen. Where do people come up with this stuff???????

    Hell, 80% of the cd's i play in my car are cdr's

    yeah, how could it hurt your cd player to play cd-r's?

    Hmm, maybe if you have really low quality cdr's (the ones that seem to somehow fall apart or shatter)it may damage your stereo.

    I still use tapes too. Easier to edit with out all the gadgets ..
