    Gummy Bears

Am I crazy or is there anyone else that thinks there is a HUGE variance in the quality of gummy snacks. Some brands are nasty..The brands usually at the gas station on road trips..Farleys,etc..I think the best is Haribo brand..The gold package..Imported from Hungary..Tough and chewy..And yes, this is a post about gummy bears, but I just wanted to ask.

Personally... I like the gummy bears that they have at Wal-Mart. Pretty much they taste as good as any other bear and they only cost like 99 cents for a bag.

I like soft and chewy... the ones they sell here at Henry's Marketplace in the bins (by the bulk) are pretty good. And I get to pick out all the pineapple ones and put them in my basket. Green is nasty.

My little brother had a packet of "gummy bandaids" the other day. Needless to say, I didn't try them. The standard gummy bear works for me.

Haribo has the best selection of flavors and they are always fresh..next in line would be Farleys I think. The only thing is I'd bag the gummy bears for those brown pink and white coconut squares.

Is white pineapple? I always wondered what that color was..I always rifle thru and eat the orange and yellow first ..cause those are gross..then save green and red for last..the whites are neutral..their ok..

Green are the best! BS is crazy, but you're not...there's a lot of difference between gummy brands. And DF is right, Wal-Mart sells a pretty decent pack of gummies.

Still, the all-time greatest are sour cherry cola gummies. You can find them at some of those candy stores in malls. If you get the fresh chewy ones, they're good enough to make you slap your grandma.

Ya. Much like kittens, their flavor varies widely.

Oh...in college, we used to soften them up a little in our mouths, then flick then onto the ceiling. I bet some are still there today. You can patch a submarine with 1/2 softened gummie bears

just don't click on the link if you are offended, or if it will spoil your gummybear appetite.

As I said, I'm a big fan of the sour cherry colas. Sour usually isn't done right by gummy-makers, though.

I really like the old school gummy worms... I haven't found them in a while, but the best I've had was the ones I remember eating in day care, back in the day.... they taste better than the regular gummy bears, since they are softer and have more gummy to chew. mmmm.

And I agree with ialsohaveadream, sour is tough to do with gummy. a lot of times, after you keep eating them, it just gets too painful, like the sour sugar eats into your mouth or something. Yikes!

I love them. When I do buy them, mikey and I cannot put down the box until it's empty!

As for gummy bears, I grew up on Haribo and they are still my favorite.

I say any gummy bear is a good bear.

Description: This demonstration illustrates the vast amount of energy which is available from the oxidation of carbohydrates, such as sugar. An excess of oxygen, generated by the decomposition of sodium chlorate, will react with a gummy bear, releasing a large amount of energy quickly and dramatically.

Black Forest brand is pretty good. I remember when sour patch kids first came out.....some crazy cannuck brought a bin of them to camp and none of us had ever seen them before. They were damn good. It still took some time to hit the US market after that.
