Hey! Who Wants To Go See "The Goonies?"

A special treat for those of us in OC, CA.

The Goonies is playing at the Edwards South Coast Village 3 by South Coast Plaza at 9:00 tonight. One night only! Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at Fandango.

And the best part is it's the full 2 hour version. Not the 90 minute POS they released on video.

FYI - I've been told it's a good idea to be there at least an hour before the show.

I just drove by there on Sunday and I thought I had misread the sign! I can't believe they're really playing the Goonies. Sweet

    Man, that was a blast!

They were seating people an hour before the show. To kill time the theatre managment released several beach balls that were getting slapped all over the place. They followed that up with some Goonies related trivia questions. They even gave out prizes.

The big suprise was that the show was sold out! There was quite a few late 20 and early 30 somethings as I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting was the large number of teenagers and youger kids. It seems Goonies has attained cult status.

The crowd was really into it. Lots of cheering. Lot of laughing.

As it turns out, this was part of a series of "Flashback Favorites" this theater has been showing. Unfortunatly I missed the screenings of the thre Indiana Jones movies, but next week they're showing "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home". I'm thinking I might have to go back for that one.

Any way, long story short, I had a really great time. OC'ers here should definatly look into it.

It's a great movie. My siblings and I loved it when it was first released and now my kids are big fans of the DVD. The girls love the broken statue. It really is a great movie.
