Windows Media 10

Has anyone downloaded this and given it a try?
I'm not sure if there is a need for an upgrade..I rarely use WM..

I wouldnt upgrade unless you love WM. I just don't trust these type of "updates." Usually it means bloated and useless and has a 10% chance of causing you to format due to suckiness.

I have it, it's basically no different. I also use WMP rather than Winamp or Sonique. I personally haven't had any issues with it.

i would wait until it's a bit more mature. First off, I'm not sure how normal folks get it, or unless it's still in beta. So unless it's being pushed out, don't touch it.

Besides, why get wmp10? doesn't 9 work for you? i don't think 10 has anything you need right now...

the only good thing microsoft did was not to name it wmp X. that X thing has gotten ridiculous.

I love WMP9, and I'll wait a while before jumping on WMP10.

The only addition to WMP 10 seems to be integration for the MS music store.

i still use a variety of media players. VLC, theatertek, powerDVD, media player classic. WMP9 being one of them.
oddly enough WMP9 works well for me for audio playback. i havent installed winamp or sonique since i reinstalled this SP2 slipstream.
im wary about WMP10 though. i dont like where MS is going with their DRM $h!t, and i suspect WMP10 is a vehicle for it.
