    SSSSS: My sister's...friend

My sister had been dating a guy on and off for 2 years now. She was good friends with him and loved him. Yet he was a troubled person, just getting out of a nasty divorce where abuse was claimed by both sides. I never knew what to think of him, since he seemed nice and really made my sister happy. He never exhibited any violent acts against my sister.

Then we found out this today.

Its crazy to think that the guy would do this and my sister might have been there. Still pretty shocking.

    Whoa.

Holy sh*t. Wow. If a woman I were dating did something like that, it might be years before I went on a date again. That's just...jarring.

I sincerely hope there's a real special place in hell for people like that...

Something like the Hitler/pineapple deal in "Little Nicky"...

    OMgosh, that is terrible.

Man your sister's head must be a whirlwind of thoughts. I hope she doesn't develop trust issues because of some crazy *******.

me too, jenny. my threshold was at the last line of the article, saying she looked forward to going to school. it's so unfair to never even get a chance at living because someone became that unhinged and selfish.

Yeah, she met him 2 years ago. I met him a couple times and pulled the "big" brother thing on him, invaded his personal space and such to see what he would do. He was a pretty level guy.

His wife, who I met once by accident seemed like a b i t c h. She was continually telling the girl that her dad didn't love her...etc. He also said that she abused him.

Personally, I think what happened was that she manipulated the system into making him look bad (the violation of the restraining order). Its pretty easy to do and I have seen it done before.

He lost his job 8 or so months ago and my sister was trying to help him find another. His wife would harrass him and say she was going to take the daughter. It was a horrible situation.

The thing that worries me is that if he was abusive, then he was either abusive to my sister and she won't say anything, or he was just hiding it. More likely I don't think he was, else she would have said something.

My sisters taking it pretty hard, blaming herself for not doing more. She has had a pretty rough time in her life, lots of curve balls, and this is just one more to stack on top. Its a sad situation for everybody.

i hope your sister realizes she has NO blame in this.

i have no sympathy for the guy. he's a coward. go ahead and take your own life, but what a selfish selfish bastard to kill his own daughter.

She does feel some responsibility, no matter what anybody says. I have talked to her quite a bit but I know the help is limited. My family has had to go through this stuff far too many times, especially my sister.

Of course, my brother and father have gone into their protect mode. "She shoudln't have seen him at all" blah bla blah. She's 31 and can live her own life, can't keep her in a bubble.

i guess no matter what you say to them the people close to a suicide victim always feel like they could've done more to prevent it. people who commit suicide don't care about leaving that guilt behind for others to bear.

I wish there was something someone can do, but like you said, all we can do is be thankful that your sister wasn't also a casualty
