How far would someone have to go for you to threaten to beat them up?

I figure this is relationship related

Heh, I'm a guy who very easily lets insults roll off my shoulder. I'm a firm believer in "turning the other cheek and using my words rather than my fists" but I'm wondering when enough is enough for you.

For me you'd have to key my car before I kicked your ass.

    Missy was/is my mark.

I swear, if she even crosses her eyes at me, I will wollop her into next week.

(she is my sis in law, if you are up to reading, search for some suckage posts)

But basically, cross my kids, family, lie to me or said family, don't apreciate my space/money/donation to keep your butt of the street, and keep up the lying and crap and don't appreciate a damn thing, don't expect me to be nice anymore.

I imagine I'd beat someone up who was peeing on me too.

At first i was like huh? My name is mark, you are gonna wallop me?
Hmm yeah certain people slowly wear down my kindness and then every time is see them, its like come on, give me a reason to life you up by your neck and watch the blood leave your face. Although usually my threat of violence is simply to counter another persons threat of violence. If a guy even lifts his hand at a girl, i let him know where he will be able to find his teeth if he makes a move. In terms of bothering me, nothing really does unless you try for a few years. Then i might toss a nickel at you.
Violence usually isn't the right answer. For me at least.

I think its more a long series of events that finally culminates in the straw that breaks teh camels back. The only two times I've been in a fight in my life (both in middle school) was because I put up with annoying people for years only to have them do something relatively minor which just set me off.

Case in point, one kid I knew since 2nd grade. He had typical short man complex, even in elementary school. He would also talk about how tough he is and whatnot and try to pick on people and if they picked back he would threaten to fight them (but it rarely happened). Well fast forward 4 years of putting up with this kid's annoyance. All the kids in the neighborhood are playing football in the street and after a play were he blatantly did pass interference on my teammate I call it out. He tells me to "shut the ____ up." I don't know why but I literally saw red. I ran at him, tackled him, put him in a head lock and punched his face as hard as I could liek 20 times. Then all of teh sudden one of my friends goes, "geez dan, I think he has had enough." And suddenly my vision came back and I let him go. He ran home and that was that. After that we actually became better friends. He never tried to do his little man crap to me anymore and actually went out of his way to be nice. I hate to say violence was the answer, but it actually made both our lives better.

I generally don't get too ticked off or get into fights very often. The last time I was in a confrontation was probably back 4 years ago in highschool when I was walking down the hallway with my girlfriend and some kid had the nerve to call her a slut with me standing right there. I grabbed him by the neck and shoved him into a locker and let him know that it was a big mistake to say that.

So, I guess to cause me to get into a fight someone would have to do something to my significant other or my family, I usually don't get too pissed when people mess with just me.

heh, I am mostly talk. I hate fighting. I have only been in two fights before and those were with my sister. Once she wouldn't sing "jingle bells" with me so I threw a cow bell at her and broke her nose and another time I busted her lip because she was being a pain/not listening/doing her work/fair share while I was supposed to be watching her while mom was out.

But I swear that girl (SIL, Missy) is the only one that can bring out rage in me that quick that I would take her down without batting an eye.

Someone would have to physically threaten or hurt me or a loved one before I fought.

i agree... what a depressing song (Sinatra)

you guys might think bad of me but at a "Hawaiian-theme" party a couple of summers ago i actually took down a guy for dissing Derek Jeter. he would not SHUT TFU! we fell on a tikki hut and it came down on us. the look on his face was worth it, and he did shut up after that.

besides that i wouldn't get in a physical fight with anyone unless they threatened me first.

Frank Sinatra....it amazes me, when I see a Karaoke newbie who is Italian, he has to do "My Way" whether he can sing or not. It must be in their blood.

Oh, do I ever hate that song

You can doubt me, but there is very little you can do for me to resort to violence. I've seen people get pissed and take a swing, and nowadays, the a-holes that start talking the trash will get you a ride in a police car and assault charges to boot. I had my sideview mirrors ripped off my car, and while I was mad, I wouldn't have gone after someone... just paranoid about B.S. charges that I've seen good people have to deal with.
    And closer...

Yeah that's pretty much my take on it.

And I wouldn't threaten to beat somebody up unless I intended to do it.

I think you could have actually gotten yourself a little bit of anal lovin' after that. You know, the whole alpha male dominating a weaker male kind of thing. Sort of like men in prison.

Anyway, as for myself, I rarely get in arguments, let alone fights. So long as the fight is for fun and with a friend so that I know I can keep it clean, I'm okay with fighting (must be my Irish side). But generally, I know that I could hurt someone really badly, so I tend to refrain from physical violence.

Seriously, an 8 year old has enough strength to kill an adult with one punch, if struck correctly. In any fight, your opponent can kill you with one punch, and vice versa. Too much risk if you ask me. Only if I'm attacked.
Careful where you extend your hand. You may pull it back bloodied.
