Yeah, it's very strange, I made a copy just to play an intranet game with a friend. The file structures, sizes, everything, was the same. When it came time to play, though, it wouldn't recognize the play CD. Very weird. Never seen that type of copy protection.

I did not try myself but a friend of mine seems to be playing a copied version that he burned. I know for sure that he did not buy the game although i am heavly pursuading him to buy it. I think the game is great and well worth the money. It already gave me many fun filled hours also nice panda eyes (from lack of sleep)

No way, really a burn copy.....What software did they use for the burn....It would be nice to play with my little brother without having to spend another 40 dollars.

Also do anyone know if collector edition have been sold out? I would like to get my hand on one....

Do anyone know.....if Diablo 2 have their own individual cd keys? If all of them have a distinct cd key, wont it means that they tract if there is a duplicate key online and then ban the key?

    Thanx all,

Too many questions and not enough answers...

    As regards the CD key:
I haven't registered it online yet. Therefore, the burned copies should not have been excluded from regular use. Despite my attempts to copy, it was merely for convenience's sake, and I can say I feel good about the $35 bucks I dropped on it; unfortunately (mostly for my social life) it's been less than a buck an hour since I got it. Not too many things like that in my house!

I haven't tried it yet, but CloneCD will defeat (almost) any copy protection.

    Thanx T.

I'll look into it....I think I will end up buying another copy because I prefer to play with a closed character....and since I found out that each diablo have it own unqiue CD-key,I would need to get another copy.....

    Thanx!

I wholeheartedly agree. I can't say there's a direct correlation, what with the success of Starcraft and all, but notice the exponentally more complex game we have here compared to Diablo I, which also sold very well? I'm not even talking about graphics, etc., because those aren't even that THAT great. It's just a well-thought out, well-crafted game. I compare it to some of those old NES games, the ones that had to concentrate on concept because graphics and sound were not going to sell units. Diablo's kind of like that too: it's more fun than nice to look at. Greater than the sum of its parts, if you will.
