I think Sega deserves a congratuations. After the debacle with the saturn, I was ready to write them off, especially after they and Nintendo lost so much market share to console newcomer Sony. They are in a good position now, better than Nintendo in my opinion. Anyone have any thoughts?

Oh, btw, I don't own a Dreamcast, I'm strictly a PC gamer...and the XBox doesn't count as a PC, no matter how many PC components it's going to use.

Well I dunno, dreamcast is fighting a good fight but it will die soon enough, they have a hard time selling 5000 units a month in japan, everyone there knows that PS2 is wayyy better So once that comes out in the US dreamcast is screwed. Even with their new push for their online thing.

But X-box is gonna be cool, especially since I am going to get to test it at microsoft

Well Sega hasn't really been fighting for anything since they are the only newest generation of system on the American market right now. You can bet the barn that once psx2 comes out dc sales will drop faster than a gigilow's underwear. Once x-box and psx2 are settled in to the competition, dc has a chance to flop. Deja Vu for sega once again. . . they released the saturn early and. . . once psx came out. . . hehe the nightmare began. Stay tuned to the ever lasting system wars .

Dreamcast is not a bad machine at all... Well i brought it because i got it for 100 bucks only when it first came out at urbanfetch.com, The saturn was pretty good too but not too many good games came out for it. I had a lot of fun playing Xmen Vs Street Fighter or whatever it was call.

I think the stories of the DCX's demise are vastly overstated. If the stories of the supply shortage scheme that Sony's trying to pull are true, the DCX's sales will continue to be strong for at least another 6 months. I also don't think Sega's stupid not to have learned the lesson from their last go-round: the Saturn just didn't have enough games, and didn't have enough buzz. And it just wasn't as good as the PSX or the N64. That isn't as true this time around. THe PS2's capabilities have been probably exagerrated: it can't be THAT much better than Dolphin or DCX. You'll still be playing mostly PSX games to start with, making the enlarged capacity moot; it's 200 bones more than a DCX; sure, it plays DVD's, but it'll be a while before you can play burned games; and if you can't get one, really, what's the point?
The DCX is a very viable system that has not been fully exploited, I bet, from Sega's perspective. The online capabilities have yet to be properly rolled out and marketed. The company (hopefully) isn't that stupid twice. I assume they left something in the tank to combat the three new systems. I just hope it isn't something crazy like the Genesis CD-player again...

Hey everyone, don't forget that it is now possible to copy games. I was never really interested in DC before, and now (even though PS2 and x-box are coming out) I would like to get one. Anyone who has experience with burning DC games tell me your experience with it.
