i'm stuck in Soul Reaver

man i'm still waiting for D2, i don't think it's ever coming now. so i'm playing soul reaver.
rahab is dead and raziel can swim now, so i'm getting the diff glyphs. i'm on the sunlight glyph w/ the lighthouse. u jump up and up then over to the lighthouse, come around it and there's a cutscene down to a wooden door down below.
in this same area there is water below and something like pistons in the water for u to jump across to the bottom entrance of the lighthouse.
back to the wooden door, what to do inside? i've even gone to the extent of looking up walkthru's (every single one i've found is exactly the same actually), but it describes this room that i've never seen.
according to walkthru's the room behind the wooden door is sposed to have metal ducting in the middle and a crank, but i don't see these. just some skinny pillars that aren't climable and this weird symbol on the wall w/ a triangular hole in the middle.
so what to do?

if u've been following my life (prolly not) u'd kno that i ordered it awhile back but haven't received it yet. so yes, D2 exists, i just don't have a copy.
