Sick with the psx2. That is if you're like me who is a Nintendo nut and loves Zelda, Mario, and all of those great games. I count out the X-Box since the coding for it is going to be so similar to PC format that most games will come out for X-Box and PC so screw that.

I'd go for PS2 if I could only purchase one system. Here are the reasons:
X-Box: It's made by MS and I believe we all experience "blue screen", "system freezes up", and crashs from time to time. Plus it's more like a computer entertainment system for me. Since I already have PIII 800, PC133 128 MB and GeForces GTS, I don't have the urge to purchase another similiar product just for TV.
GameCube: It only has 405mhz. They say they didn't go with the super power because instead they decided to make it easier to design for. It's true but how many companys have signed up with Nintendo? Much less than with Sony. True that they can still make Mario/Zelda but without more pushes (such as SquareSoft, Capcom), it'd just be like N64.
PS2: It can play both PS1 and PS2 games and the graphic improves even with PS1 games. That means more games to play. It'll take awhile for the game programmers to fully utilize and move to PS2. Meanwhile we still have plenty of PS1 games to play. It's a huge plus. Unlike Sega DreamCast or Nintendo GameCube, they ditch last generation console once they move on.
It's just a brief opinion and I'll definitely go for PS2.

Ah, this year, a Dreamcast, as it will be cheap come Christmas. Next year, PS2, as they may actually have some games then, and it should be a heck of a lot cheaper. Doubtful on X-box - tons of those games will end up on a PC anyway, and Microsoft gets enough of my money as is. Game Cube if I have a sofa that needs leveling.

You can play PS games on bleem! and Dreamcast games on bleemcast! (not sure if the name is right). I'd stick with computer afterall I use it everyday and I can always have friends around to go hunt some monsters or stuffs.

Heh, too bad bleem and bleemcast suck. But anyhow, as much as psx1 or psx2 rock. . . I'll probably stick with mah n64 and then get a game cube just 'cause I've been a nintendo nut ever since I was lil'. I just love mario, zelda and all of the other proprietary Nintendo games. Plus if game cube has even half of the great multi-player games n64 has, I will no doubt buy it. But maybe. . . just maybe. . . I'll make room for a sony system. . . doubt it though. . .
