Does anyone know any good deals for vacation trips? I',m planning to take my wife on a paradise vacation but I'm not sure where and the best price for it! Was thinking some beach place with scuba diving, snorking, evening dances, white beaches, expensive dinners etc etc, a little gambling wouldn't hurt either? Any suggestions or should I just go to a travel agency?

Wow...talk about the lowest pre-post effort yet. You haven't even thought of where you want to go besides a "beach place".
Look, I don't want to come off as a total dick, but really, you could have picked up the horn and called a travel agent to see what is out there to begin with. Don't you think that would be a better idea than trying to solicit the opinions of total strangers with regard to your holiday?
At least make an attempt at looking before you ask, please.

Having flown around the world 42 times in 3 years ( 1971 to 1974), written articles for travel magazines and the WWW as well as being a freelance travel consultant ( see 2nd link below for Solid Gold Travel ) in my retirement I would suggest you take a look at this site...as well as some others... plenty of bargains out there now - everyone is fighting for your travel dollar.

    http://www.belltravel.net/

I have no affiliation with this company at all - just seems to be a very good site with a lot of offerings without having to jump through hoops to get the info you want. At least it's a start - I know there are others out there however after spending sometime on the phone talking to the owners I would have to say the personalized service these people have to offer is top notch.

If you are interested in booking your own travel - as well as for others - and getting paid a commission on the fares you book then you may want to take a look at:

    http://www.solidgoldtravel.com/

Travel is getting cheap - with the strong dollar in Europe you'll probably get more for your money and have a better time laying on a beach on the Med ( France, Spain or Portugal ) rather than going to the Caribbean, Mexico, etc in the middle of hurricane season!

I am not a big fan of Priceline because their "blind" offerings don't offer much flexability - cheap prices maybe , but going to an individual travel site/agency is probably going to save you money in the long run. If all you want is cheap fares the www.expedia.com has priceline beat by a mile - better fares, wider selection and you can pick you flights for the most part.

    Have fun

PS The $549 r/t air, car and hotel package to Ireland at Bell Travel is a GREAT package - it's mentioned on their site....

OK how about the French or Italian Rivierra?

r/t air fare (Northwest) $350 or $250 or FREE
    http://www.nwa.com/
click on "Great Deals to Milan Italy"

Once there go from the airport to the train station and buy a ticket to a number of nice resort towns on the Mediterranean Sea.

This is a tough deal to beat.
