Thread: S: Slashed tire

    S: Slashed tire

Well someone doesn't want me to vote today. Someone slashed my tire and several other people in my condo area. Someone had all four slashed. So far it looks like mostly Honda Civics new and old and a motorcycle.

So is it worth to file a police report and file a claim through my insuranace company. I'm sure the accident I had last month when the uninisured motorist caused my accident and this vandalism claim will boost my rates a few bucks.

    Sigh.

I would file the police report so they have the incident on file, but I wouldn't bother with the insurance.

some types of insurance claims don't cause your rates to rise. you might want to check.

yeah I don't meet my min deductible of 200. It's only one tire so I have to search for place to get it all done. So what's the going rate for a tire today? Replace one or just buy them in pairs? Replace all four? This is just my normal drive to and from work car. Any good places...I'm looking at Mr. Tire and NTB.

At the minimum replace two. If your tires are approaching their end of use, definitely replace all four.
    And closer...

Vandalism will not cause your premiums to go up.

This falls under "comprehensive".... so you probably don't have to worry about the premiums...

Now... "collisions" on the other hand do make premiums go up.

Since the amount is less than your deductible why bother reporting it?

Yeah... that's is true as well. That makes it Extra sucky since that is money out of pocket that wouldn't have been spent that way otherwise...

Personally, I'd recommend "Discount Tire" if you have one in your area.

Pretty much they have the best road hazard warranty in the business and their prices are pretty hard to beat as well.

As others have said... how old were your tires? Were they in need of replacement anyways? Standard passenger tires really don't cost that much... either way (I guess I can say that considering that the tires on the HEMI run like $300 each. ).

Either way, if all of your tires were virtually new, I'd replace one. If they are somewhat worn (then I'd look towards when was the last time you had them replaced... and only replace the cut tire and the oldest out of the other 3). If they are all worn, then just go ahead and bite the bullet and replace the set.

One of the really good things about Discount tire is also that they have alot of choices as far as tire selection and they other terms for "same as cash" payments.

If you were voting for Bush then you were lucky to have only one tire slashed since you are responsible for F-ing over every contingent of America except for the wealthiest upper crust.

If two of your brothers were killed in Iraq, you might be a little "bitter" too. And I am sure your kids and grandkids will enjoy living in a country where the rich get richer and the poor are enslaved. That is if they aren't drafted into the military and die trying to conquer some Arab country.

That really wasn't my point. The question was whether or not to report to the police and insurance company a slashed tire, not your opinion on George Bush. If you want to bash Bush please move to the political forum, it is there for a reason.

i hate this argument so much. Apparently this is the way most of the bush voters think. What is this f*cking crap about it's your way or the highway? Dissention is what makes this country great.

If you don't like us making criticisms about the US, YOU go to another country. Try cuba.

Dissent is one thing, acting like a damn libtard is another.

    ---------------
Let me just add for this matter: I live across the street from nice folks whose political views are diametrically opposite mine. I wouldn't allow anyone to mess with their political signs and expect the same consideration in return. In fact they even suggested a drink when the election was over.

    wow gear, very harsh.

it's one thing to criticize our country but sadtaco1 saying
If you were voting for Bush then you were lucky to have only one tire slashed since you are responsible for F-ing over every contingent of America except for the wealthiest upper crust.
to mcs328 was way out of line.

hey sadtaco1 you will get alot further helping to fix the things you find wrong with this country without calling people idiots and wishing violence upon them for their beliefs.

i am sorry to hear about your brothers. i see it fuels your bitterness. in time you will hopefully shed some anger.

i was just surprised that you criticized Hoser and then told him to do the same exact thing - love it or leave it. i agree that sentiment is old and worn out, but i still maintain we live in the best damn country in the world. sure, it's far from perfect, but the constant complaints from some people are getting old too.
change can be good, and change is needed at times, but go forth positively.

People who say we live in the best damn country in the world usually haven't ever been to a foreign country. And before you snap back, your spring break trip to Cancun doesn't count.

I was just turning his argument around. I don't subscribe to it and I don't mind criticism of those who criticize the administration, but to say that someone who complains and is against the administration is unpatriotic is retarded.

On the flip side, some complaints are getting on my nerves, like the war in iraq. Sure, we were duped by Bush and apparently most Bush voters don't care, but we're there, so deal with it. To go on and on about that is really dumb (Al Shapton for one does this all the time)

Out of curiosity, how much time have you spent in a foreign country?
