I got cables on ebay for 2.50 a piece for 25 ft. You'd have to look and be patient though. How many do you need? Have you concidered making your own?

If I was you, I'd get a spool of the stuff, in a couple hundreds, much cheaper that way, go buy the crimpers and get some clip plug-in things, whatever they are called, and make your own. I have a buddy who has a resellers license... he gets me this stuff for cheap, about 5 cents a foot total cost.

Surprisingly, the sell bulk CAT5 cable at the big hardware chains, like Home Depot. You should probably check there is you want to do your own. A good price for bulk cable is about $.10/ft or less - I usually buy 1000' spools for about $100.

Yea home depot has bulk cable. If you want the regular stuff(PVC) its about 60 for 1000 ft, if you want the plenium blue, its alot more, about 160-180 per 1000 ft. They sell the crimpers and the rj-45 ends too. The rj-45 jacks seem pretty expensive though, like 5-7 bux a piece, i get my telephone jacks for a buck, i'm still looking for those,

The crimper for the ethernet ends should not be skimped on. If you get the cheap plastic ones they'll break in under 50 crimps. I got a nice metal one and it's going strong even after 200+ crimps. Although it cost me $40.

The ends go for about $7 for a pack of 40 or so at Fry's.

I've seen places in computer shopper selling the blue plenum for like $110 (fire resistant and shielded), so shop around. If you need some serious speed pop for the better cable. Else cheap PVC should do the trick on most decent hubs/switches.

Check BlackBox.com. They have lots of wires and equipment. I use to handle purchasing for a big 5 firm and this is the best place to get supplies.

If you want your cables now, I suggest hitting home depot, and grabbing a bunch of them. They sell I think 500 ft for 35. I bought 1k and wired stuff up.

I got my CAT-5 thru VSTORE. Check on deals page. There were 2 obsticles to this deal.

    1) description on site does not say how much cable is on spool. It was 1000 ft.

    2) to get good deal needed good coupon. at the time a was able to get for $50 after coupon. not sure whats available now.

Yeah, checked out home depot. They have cat5 for either $.10/foot or $.39/foot, depends on what quality I want. Thanks for all the help.
