What kind of plug does the fan have? Usually case fans connect to the motherboard.

Many case fans use the 4-pin connections from the power supply. They will often have a "pass-thru" type connection so the same plug still can supply power to a device (such as a hard drive or optical drive).

If the fan has a small 3-pin connector, it's designed to plug into a motherboard fan header.

Some fans (usually not cheap ones, though) will have both. You plug the 3-pin (female) connector to the mobo and the 4-pin Molex pass through into your PS. The mobo has speed monitoring, in case you want that.

Generally, if I have the choice, I use the big molex connector, since grounded electricity from fans tends be to pretty dirty-not the kind of power I want on my mobo.

the fans have the double 4 pin connectors and the front led's (for power supply and reset) have two holes in them.

i hope i have enough connections on my power supply... lol
