    NSS: A good rebate company

About 1.5 months ago, I bought a Maxtor Hard Drive at Office Depot that came with a $25 rebate. I sent in the rebate and expected to have to do the normal "fight with rebate company to get your rebate" thing.

Anyway, I was impressed that on 10/29, they emailed me to say they had received the rebate, and then they just emailed me today to let me know that they had mailed it. Amazingly good service for a rebate company. Looks like the company is called "The Express Group". I have no idea if that rebate was from OfficeDepot or from Maxtor, through.

that's great. glad that there's at least one company out there doing business in a good, solid way.

My best rebate experience so far has been with HP. I bought an HP computer at Office Depot.

In addition to filling out and mailing the rebate form, receipt, and UPC, if you fill out an online rebate form, it will speed up the process by a few weeks.

Ended up receiving my $50 check 2-3 weeks after I mailed in the rebate. Really fast service!

yeah, i've been getting very good rebates on all my purchases lately. always getting an e-mail saying the received, and then another e-mail saying they sent the check.

actually, just did a rebate with ecost (a retailer rebate, not manufacturer), and got the check in less than 2 weeks of sending the rebate. that was impressive.

Most Office Depot rebates are handled through the Express Group. I've gotten similar emails from them.

Be wary of rebates that are processed by wheresmyrebate.com (which is the online site for TCA Rebates - mail goes to New Rochelle, NY). They handle rebates for NetGear and Samsung, among others. And they have a history of demanding "proof of purchase" that is not shown on the rebate form (such confirmation email and/or packing slips instead of the usual online purchase receipt), which you might not have 8 weeks after sending in the information to them. Fortunately for me, Office Depot is taking my side on this rebate as I mentioned in this thread. Do a google on "wheresmyrebate" and you will find discussions in many forums and web sites about this place.

Just wanted to add a couple more here.

Bought a Compaq computer in January which had a $50 HP rebate and a $200 Circuit City rebate. I submitted both of them (using the online form then mailing them in) around the end of January.

Anyway, I got the HP rebate last week, and the Circuit City one was mailed yesterday. Overall, about a month for both of them. Really fast rebate service there!

Norton has been incredibly fast on recent rebates for me. I've gotten my money in about 3 weeks.
