Can you, without google, name the Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus & Species of humans?
yeah, pretty much we missed the boat on that one. but it's still here. get you some.
I can name some of them
Kingdom - Animal
Phylum - vertebrate I'm pretty sure
Genus - Homo
species - sapien
Common sense is what tells you the Earth is flat.
wrong on all counts, though you are only off in spelling/language for the first one.Originally Posted by zenbooty

I know one of them is "mamailia" (mammals for the rest of us)
another is "pimate"
another I think in "hominid"
Lets try (using zen's to build on):
Kingdom - animal
Phylum - vertibrate
Class - mamalia
Order - primate
Family - hominid
Genus - ?
Species - homo sapien
Do I get points for being close?
you have the kingdom, class, and order right.Originally Posted by dsuds

Oh Christ BI, calling Animal wrong because its supposed to be Animalia is getting a little picky, dontcha think?
And its a trick question. We are a member of a subphylum, which you never mentioned, which throws things off.

for the record, the only one i got right when asked this question was the kingdom, though i maintain they've changed it since i was in highschool.

damn. before opening the thread, i came up with animalia ... mammalia ... homo sapiens. everything else was a fat blank.
ask me about liquidambar styraciflua, tho, and i've got your BACK, jack! plant scientist roll call! me... and... uhh... well, probably just me! wheee!

Not all species have a subphylum classication, and in your initial question list you didn't mention the existence of one for us. As it turns out, my guess for our phylum is actually our subphylum. So I should get half credit at leastOriginally Posted by blueindian

Back in the 7th grade when I first learned this, I could have recited it with no problem thanks to my very competant science teacher Mrs. Amara.
Unfortunately, that information was accidentally deleted after a weekend party during my undergraduate college years.
I think over again
My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.
And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:
To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

kindom=animal
phylum=vertebretes
class=mammals
order=primate
family=mankind
genus=homo
species=sapiens
It's not the scientific names but I think a science teacher would except them.
After I googled it I saw that I was close on Family as well.
i never memoized this stuff in high school. i ain't going to start now.
apparently you missed the without google part.Originally Posted by puppetmaster

Stop smoking the crack. It's close enough.
i never this would become such a heated subject. anything's possible around here though.
maybe close enough for horse shoes or hand grenades, but the two marked are just plain wrong.Originally Posted by puppetmaster
