    Ski Clothing Stores in SoCal

When I lived back east, I used to get all my skiing gear at a place called Ski Barn. I haven't purchased snow gear since I moved to LA. What are the best stores (selection wise) in the SoCal area to shop for skiing gear?

i find Sportsmart to be decent. good selection and reasonable prices for the most part. i buy most of my stuff at the end of ski season when they are having clearance sales. the smaller shops tend to be way over priced but if they have a specialty item you need they're usually worth it.

yeah. sport chalet in la canada has some stuff. make sure you go to the ski/snowboard one though. its not attached to the main store. its across the street from the main store. i bought some stuff from there after ski season and got a decent deal on the stuff

if you got the time, i say go to skidazzle before the weekend is up.

if not (and you got money to burn), go to REI... hrmm, there was a nice ski/snowboarding store in torrance but the name escapes me at the moment. actually, i don't think i ever knew the name. a friend just dragged me there once a few years ago.

How is skidazzle? I am going myself this weekend to look for a board. Hate it when you go to these shows and all they have are good deals on past season boards, but the new stuff is still bank with no discounts.

first place i would go is skidazzle. its at the convention center and ends on sunday. personally i think its been the worst in the past 4 years i've gone, but i wasn't looking for snow gear. its $15 to get in, plus u get a free lift to bear mountain. its only valid till dec. 17th. from the 17th thru the 3rd of january its blacked out and then after that till the end of the season its buy one get one free with the coupon, so basically 50% off. sport chalet, sportsmart all have a good amount of snowboarding/skiing gear. there's a good amount of stores throughout so cal so just look on their website and see which one's closest. there's a few "smaller" retail stores that carry clothing too. val surf, atomic garage (dont know if that one still exists), billys are all places i've found clothing at. i think a good amount of skate shops sell winter gear. hope u find what ur lookin for.

i was able to get a board (LTD), bindings, and boots for $300, and thats including tax at skidazzle.

i really don't like the selection at Sport Mart, as it leaves much to be desired. i'm gonna try hitting up the REI store this week...
