    Dell Inspiron 600m Question

I'm planning to get a Dell Inspiron 600m laptop. The question is for the second modular battery, does it insert in the same space where the DVD-Rom is? Could I use both the DVD-Rom and the second modular battery at the same time beside the standard primary battery? TIA.

    glagic,

thank you so much for your help. What do you mean by air bay, perhaps not installing anything at the modular bay? What are the usual battery time for (1) having only the primary and (2) both primary and secondary batteries?

If you don't mind, I can answer the one w/ one battery. Under regular load it seems like it's lasting me around 3 1/2 hours with wireless enabled. Contrast plays a huge role in battery life and I keep that at around ~60% range.

As for the "airbay" I think he means that the CD bay is empty.
If con is the opposite of pro, then what's the opposite of progress?

yeah. the air bay is just the empty slot holder for the cd drive. like you dont have a cd drive or battery in there to make it even lighter. i think it costs like $7 more or something like that. its pretty worth it. makes it nice and light

Thank you AlpineJay for the response. So how much more usage time would I expect from the secondary modular battery?

    glagic,

mind telling me where you purchased the "air bay"?

using the second battery, i you can get about 6.5 hours worth depending on waht you do. if all you do is word processing with the internet off, you can get about 7 hours worth of usage.

the air bay is under the "cables and accessories category" and is the "Weight Saver D-Module (airbay) [$5]"

its just a plastic thing that acts as a place holder for the modular bay

Regarding the screen, is it worth the $62 upgrade from XGA to SXGA? How do you guys like your 600m so far?
