    Happy Wednesday QOTD

You HAVE to do one of the following: Deliver a speech to 1,000 people; fast dance by yourself on national television for one minute; or run naked alongside a busy highway for a half mile. Which do you choose? Why?

You are given the choice to live your life as you are for an indefinite amount of time, or to live for only 20 more years, but to experience great happiness and fullfilment during those 20 years. Which do you choose? Why?

    Have a groovy day!

I'd probably give the speech just because I have had to do that before for about 100 people. It's not difficult with preparation and experience.

I'd rather live my life as it is right now because I'm relatively content and happy as it is. Not many people can say they their wife is happy with your two-foot-long wiener.
    I think over again
    My small adventures, my fears.
The small ones that seemed so big,
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.

And yet there is only one great thing, the only thing:

To live to see the great day that dawns,
And the light that fills the world.

I'd run naked and chose to live my life as is. Not many 22 year olds can say they have accomplished their life dreams.

Run naked for 1/2 mile. Process of elimination. I've done plays in front of 1,000 people before so that doesn't really scare me. I can't dance worth a hoot so dancing on national TV would be a great humiliation (think "She Bang"). Running naked sounds pretty cool and would make for a great story later.

Since you said indefinite instead of infinite, I'd choose 20 years of happiness & fullfilment. To live 20 more years happily would be wonderful, and more than anyone could hope for. My current life is good, but not great... it is human nature to think that things are ok, but could be better (no matter how good/bad things really are).

I would deliver the speech-and hopefully-it would be one of those kinds of speeches like the Gettysburg address that would live on and on in history-and would kick my 15 minutes of fame into high gear...unlike dancing on tv, (when people have the option to click you off and not be noticed) or running naked-I used to run daily (now walk) and it sucks to have stones fly up and whack you in the leg from passing cars..I imagine if I ran naked-It would simply give people a chance to gawk, laugh and throw old coke bottles me-and who wants that!

    hmmmm....
living for an indefinate amount of time-ok,first give your description of indefinate? are we talking hundreds of years? or 50 years? or what? After a while I think I'd just be TIRED of waking up everyday, doing nothing..while everyone else is young and vibrant I'd be the oldest on the block..the kooky old lady with 60 cats, and smoky jazz playing on the cd player (which in itself would be extinct by then)..but then again-I'd be the kooky old lady with 60 cats and smoky jazz and that in itself is sounding so eccentric that it's inviting. (even though I hate cats)

I guess I would take the 20 years of happiness and fullfilment as long as there were some guarantee that it would be ONLY happiness and fullfillment. Besides..if you had an idea of when your time was up-you can plan one hell of a funeral. There is just so much more that you can do if you know you are on limited time..you MAKE time to go places, get things done, see people..etc.

I would fast dance naked on national TV while speaking to 1,000 people.

I'm with Obby - if it's 20 years of bliss, I'll take it. If either way is unpredictable, I'll live until I'm bored.

I bet you're not a midget, because if you were I doubt you would want to run anywhere with a two foot long weiner.

I could do any of the top except dance on tv, I just can't dance. But I'd prolly just do the speech. I don't wanna be causing accidents on the highway now....*cough*...

And I'd choose to live for 20 more years. Stupid meteor is gonna hit around then anyway =P

Deliver the speech because I've already given plenty of speeches and I don't have a problem with it (although I don't think I've ever done it in front of 1000 people but I have broken several hundred). Anyways, if I am reading the question right the point of the choice is to test my mental strength not the mental strength of the audience.

I'd live my life as is. There is no guarantee that I'll live longer than 20 years as is anyways but I feel I owe it to my kids to at least try to raise them for as long as I can.

Public speaking and presentation are my strong suits... no doubt. Although... the thought of some crazy and attractive woman careening off the highway to have her way with me is oddly appealing... but not today.

I'll interpret indefinite to mean unlimited. On that basis, I choose to remain as I am for an unlimited period of time... with the caveat that I retain the ability to grow and learn the lessons necessary to achieve greater happiness and fulfillment. Would one truly wish to be "happy" and only happy for a finite 20 years? That decision eliminates much of the richness, growth and wisdom attainable only through the "unhappy" experiences of pain, sorrow, strife, loss, grief, etc. IMHO.

Dance... it can't get you arrested, it's shorter in duration than the other choices, and people already know I don't dance well. It could be fun.

Live as I am now... 20 years isn't long enough.
