Happy (dry) weekend, everyone!
! alert !
they are out there

saw this posting on another forum:
rr thread
"Got the "you-are-banned-from-the-program-for-sharing-codes" email.
I've only been playing for less than a month!"
these guys just can't see the forest for the trees
they don't recognize a good thing when it hits them in the face
if opportunity knocked they'd slam the door
this forum is a goldmine for them
they can monitor it and gleen valuable insight as to what is working and what isn't
members solve problems that otherwise would be a flood of irate questions
other websites pay good money to get the information they get free here.
they should be so delighted with the value of this free tool
that they should post free "non poisonous" codes on the forum.
they should rethink their no sharing codes policy
it is really silly
Yeah, I saw that post on the other forum too. Keep in mind though that the person, who got caught, did not follow the basic rules to keep the identity on the forum private.
yeah,
I see her post:
"Duh on me! I signed up with RR with the userID: 'stargirl'"
that's a big oooops
![]()
![]()
however I reviewed that thread's archives
and can't see where she posted any codes.
this is rather cavalier of rr
to ax a person because she subscribes to the forum
membership in the forum does not imply nor prove appropriating codes
what happened to innocent until proven guilty
we are supposed to be having fun
not witch hunting
leave that to the talent

and before we get too complacent
this was posted on the couch potato thread:
"Many of you may be unaware that this past week
several VERY senior Forum members
lost accounts on KGB, KYXY, & FOX/CP..."
boo, hiss

I have seen many "senior" members do things that could easily get them busted by someone watching a forum.. such as posting their point totals or thanking someone for an obscure code (gives a timeframe to look at of when it was entered). It's not always going to be a poison code.. one's own carelessness will do it as well.Originally Posted by Flotsam
These rules are guidelines used on the Couch Potato forum. They are just something that the the senior members use on the forum, and they are not set in stone.
I realize that this is your forum. I am just a guest, and I very much appreciate all each of you do. These "guidelines" may help to ensure that everyone keeps their accounts.

- Any private information related to your Couch Potato account (how much points you have, how you plant to spend them or what you may have already won) should be shared in a private message to another member of the forum if necessary.
2. We confirm codes.
- If you're new don't take it personal if someone confirms a code that you post. Confirming is what works for us.
- Poison codes do exist (Examples: krusty, golf2004), their intention is to catch those who brake the rules.
- You confirm by actually hearing or seeing the code (and recieving the code directly from the origional source), not by another source or testing the code to see if it works (Poison codes work too).
- No confirming your own post, a code and a confirmation are two seperate posts.
3. No Guessing or Cheating.
- Don't post guessed codes or put codes in early (like a bonus event that has not started yet or answer to a trivia question that has not been revealed yet).
- Only post a code if you see or hear it yourself, only confirm a code if you see or hear it yourself.
- Do not post a code from another forum unless that code has been confirmed by a Senior member on that forum. You also need to mention the forum you got the code from in you post.
4. Test all codes before you post them.
- Make sure you get your points in green letters (Trivia) or a green confirmation box (codes) that says "Congratulations".
- Make sure the spelling is correct once you post it, everybody makes mistakes, buy some mistakes could cost us all our points.
- Do not compete to see who can post their code first, if somebody beat you, you can always confirm.
- Red means stop (no posting the code whatsoever), sometimes the code is correct and FOX6 will reward you those points later with an email confirmation. By then it's usually too late to post that code, but we cannot afford to post the code under any uncertain conditions.
5. Listen to Senior members and respect fellow members.
- Senior members have alot of experience, which you can trust, and they usually know what's best. They have tons of great advice too.
- Provoking or belittling other members is unacceptable, if you can't respect and show basic curtisy to other people, you should not be participating in any forum - let alone this one.
- If this sounds paranoid or ridiculous to you, please refrain from making posts on our forum. You put the rest of us in jepordy.
6. Be specific about the source of the code.
- In addition to posting the code, give a source. For example FITM (Fox in the mornig), Simpson code, upn13 code, Fox6 10pm (News at 10pm), Special event (name the event) code, Internet code, etc.
- If you just post a code without a source, you will recive suspicion or even hostility from other members.
